What's This Meetup All About?

Enterprises had rapidly moved from AI experimentation to real, high-stakes deployment, and with that shift came a new challenge ensuring these systems operated responsibly, transparently, and in compliance with global regulations. Many organizations have strong Responsible AI principles on paper but struggle to translate them into day-to-day operational practices across distributed teams and complex technology ecosystems. This edition of Building with AI brought together leaders from global enterprises who had already navigated this complexity. They shared how their organizations built governance councils, established accountability frameworks, strengthened data foundations, and implemented monitoring mechanisms that supported AI at enterprise scale. The session highlighted real-world stories of how Responsible AI had been operationalized not as a one-off initiative, but as a repeatable system embedded into product development, data workflows, and business decision-making.

Attendees gained clarity on how leading enterprises had moved from conceptual conversations about ethics to practical execution models that ensured AI systems remained auditable, trustworthy, and aligned with organizational values. Solve Real-World Challenges!

What Was This Hackathon All About?

In July 2025, Covasant Technologies hosted its first AI Hackathon 2025, an exclusive invite-only competition designed to tap into the immense creativity of budding engineers from India's elite technical institutions, including IIT Bhubaneswar, IIIT Raichur, IISER Mohali, IIT Chittoor, SRMIST, and VIT Chennai. After receiving an overwhelming response of over 100 registrations, 22 carefully selected teams competed over three weeks to build real-world AI accelerators and agents using the Google Cloud Platform. The hackathon challenged participants to move beyond theoretical knowledge and create practical, scalable AI solutions addressing complex real-world problems.

The teams demonstrated remarkable technical depth and creativity across diverse domains, developing innovative projects ranging from AI agent testing systems to intelligent model routing engines and legacy system modernization tools. Throughout the development phase, each team received dedicated mentorship, invaluable industry insights, and exposure to enterprise-level product development from Covasant's senior technology and product leadership teams.

The hackathon served as a comprehensive platform for students to gain direct exposure to industry practices while transforming complex ideas into functional prototypes under expert guidance.

On Saturday, August 2, 2025, Covasant Technologies hosted the fourth edition of its much-anticipated #BuildingWithAI Meetup, themed “Human-in-the-Loop AI: Building Systems That Align with Privacy, Ethics, and Regulation.” This event brought together enterprise leaders, AI practitioners, and data experts to discuss the evolving expectations from AI systems and the growing need for human oversight, ethical safeguards, and strong data foundations.

Attendees arrived and connected over introductions, sharing their interests in areas ranging from generative AI applications to LLM monitoring and AI governance. The energy in the room set the tone for a deeply engaging and forward-looking afternoon.

Kartikeya Prahlad, Senior Director, Global Inside Sales at Covasant Technologies, opened the sessions with a compelling talk titled “What Enterprises Really Expect from AI Teams Today.” Drawing from real client conversations, Kartikeya highlighted the shifting enterprise mindset from experimentation to accountable delivery. He emphasized the importance of explainability, outcome alignment, and responsible scaling as table stakes for enterprise AI success.

Next, Sitaram Tadepalli, SVP, Machine Learning Engineering at DBS Bank India, delivered an insightful session on “Privacy, Ethics, and Governance in the Age of Agentic AI.” He explored how privacy-aware architecture, policy-as-code enforcement, and regulatory compliance are being embedded into real-world AI workflows. His talk underscored the importance of structured governance, especially as agentic AI systems gain autonomy.

After a short networking break, CV Rammohan, Chief Delivery Officer at Covasant Technologies, led the session “Prompts, Probabilities & Prejudices – Why AI Still Needs the Human Touch.” He walked attendees through real-world examples of AI hallucinations, biased outcomes, and false positives emphasizing why human context remains critical even in the most advanced generative models.

The final session was delivered by Subhash Konduru, Senior Technology Manager at a leading UK-based multinational bank. In his talk, “Data Foundation for AI – Building Enterprise Identity for Hyper-Personalization,” Subhash shared strategies for engineering consent-aware data pipelines and constructing identity graphs that drive personalization while upholding privacy and compliance.

The meetup concluded with a vote of thanks and closing remarks. Participants left with actionable insights, new connections, and a shared vision: to build AI systems that are not just powerful, but also trustworthy, transparent, and human-aligned.

On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Covasant Technologies, in collaboration with Google for Developers, hosted a meeting and hands-on workshop titled, “Build Smarter Agents, Monitor LLMs Effectively.”

This event, part of the #BuildingWithAI Meetup series, brought together AI professionals, developers, and enthusiasts to explore the latest in large language model (LLM) observability and agentic AI development.
Attendees checked in and connected with other participants. The event started with all the attendees introducing themselves, as they shared their areas of interest.

ReddyRaja Annareddy, Chief Technology Officer at Covasant, delivered an insightful talk on monitoring large language models to ensure their reliability and fairness. He emphasized the importance of observability in AI systems, discussing how it enables reliable production systems, builds user trust through fairness, speeds up iteration via drift monitoring, and aids in product decisions through remediation strategies.

The session was followed by an interactive session focused on practical tools and techniques from Google to build GenAI solutions. Attendees engaged in building a travel agent using MCP Toolbox for databases and ADK, facilitated by Ashutosh Bhakare, Google Authorized Trainer and a Google Developer Expert.
